Chicago Blackhawks Acquire Perry For Draft Pick

NHL Draft to Air on ESPN, Tampa Bay Lightning Trades Corey Perry

Chicago Blackhawks Acquire Perry for Draft Pick

ESPN and Fubo to Live Stream Event

The 2022 NHL Draft will be broadcast on ESPN and FuboTV, marking the first time the draft will be televised on a major cable network in the United States. The draft will take place on Wednesday, June 28th, at the Bell Centre in Montreal, Canada.

In a separate move, the Tampa Bay Lightning have traded 38-year-old forward Corey Perry to the Chicago Blackhawks for a draft pick. Perry, a three-time Stanley Cup champion, is expected to provide veteran leadership and scoring depth to the young Blackhawks team.

The Blackhawks have the No. 1 overall pick in this year's draft, which they acquired in a trade with the Philadelphia Flyers last season. The team is expected to select Shane Wright, a highly touted centerman from the Kingston Frontenacs. The draft will be a crucial step in the Blackhawks' rebuilding process after a disappointing season that saw them finish near the bottom of the league.
